Welcome to another year of scouting. This year Troop 5 is celebrating it’s 30th year anniversary. Congratulations! and a big Thank you! to all the leaders and other members of our community who have helped throughout these years to make this possible. Troop 5 remains committed to scouting and the promotion of its values for many years to come.
Even though these are undoubtedly challenging times, our troop is ready to start a new year and will operate following the safety guidelines of local and state governments in addition to BSA Westchester-Putnam council. Because of the current pandemic, the 2020-2021 year program is going to be a bit different. Practicing scouting in a safe environment is our number one priority.
Here is a message from our Scoutmaster:
“We are looking forward to the start of the Scout Year as I am sure all of you are. This year will be a little different in terms of how deliver the program and provide opportunities for advancement and fun. We are implementing a Hybrid Scout program with virtual Troop Meetings, in person Troop meetings and Patrol based camping and day hikes to highlight just a few things.”
Jon Denfeld, Troop 5 Scoutmaster
We hope that everyone who is involved in scouting this year follows the guidelines provided by the Troop’s leadership to make scouting a good experience for everyone.
Stay safe and happy scouting.
