Thanks to John and Chris for their service to Hearts to Home.  They raised $350 to purchase prepaid telephone calling cards and ship them to the soldiers in Iraq for calls home on holidays.

Working with the Reformed Church, we are helping to build dwellings in Yonkers in partnership with Habitat For Humanity.

The next Project Hammer will be:

Meet at the Reformed Church parking lot NO LATER than 8:30 AM, because we are leaving at exactly that time.  Any Scouts who would like to volunteer, contact John Henderson no later than Saturday, 3 January 2009.

  • Monday, December 1, 6:30:  Patrol Leaders Council (“Green Bar Meeting”).  Expected participants include Assistant Scoutmasters, Junior Assistant Scoutmasters, Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leaders, Assistant Patrol Leaders, Troop Guide, Scribe, Instructors.  Others are welcome but not expected
  • Monday, December 8, 6:30:  Full Troop Meeting, all scouts expected to attend.
  • Monday, December 8, 6:30:  Troop Committee Meeting.
  • Monday, December 15, 6:30:  Full Troop Meeting, all scouts expected to attend.
  • No meetings December 22 or 29.  Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Scouts and parents,

Attached below is the handout for the upcoming (November 22-23) Orienteering trip.

  • All Scouts who are participating should get signed waivers and make sure their Patrol Leaders know if they are attending (or if they are not) by November 14.
  • Patrol Leaders need to complete rosters and submit at the Troop Meeting (Board of Review) on November 17.
  • Patrol Leaders need to make sure that their patrol will have enough food, stoves, and other equipment for their patrol.
  • Assistant Patrol Leaders should work with their Patrol Leaders to make sure this is done.

Attached below is the handout for this coming weekend’s (October 18-19) Mountain Man trip.

  • All Scouts who are participating should make sure their Patrol Leaders know by Tuesday of this week.
  • Patrol Leaders need to let Matthew Muir, Senior Patrol Leader, who is coming from their patrol, by Wednesday of this week.
  • Patrol Leaders need to make sure that their patrol will have enough backpacking stoves, water filters, and first aid kits for the patrol.
  • Assistant Patrol Leaders should work with their Patrol Leaders to make sure this is done.
