For his Eagle project, Elliott Bartsch is leading the construction of  shelters and traps for feral cats.  Elliott is about to begin the construction phase, and has completed the first stage of cutting the wood.  He needs help sanding and painting before beginning assembly.

Any Troop members who are around over Winter Break should email or call Elliott, to schedule some times to work on this project.

For his Eagle project, Austin Engros is leading a book drive to collect books for a book fair to be held at PS 385X in the Bronx.  Austin is collecting children’s books for reading levels K through 4th grade and we will then prepare summaries of the books.  Scouts will match the books to the interest and reading levels of the students at PS 385X. The objective is to get the students more excited about reading and to find for them books that match their individual interests. Anyone with any used books for children in K through 4th grade who would like to make a donation should call Austin at either 914-961-3922 or 914-582-3328. We will finish collecting books on Saturday, March 7 and will conduct the book fair in the Bronx on Friday, March 20.

Get ready for our annual winter camping trip, which will be held this year at Durland Reservation on February 7-8.  This will be an exciting winter backpacking trip, with an opportunity to explore Durland Reservation in the winter.

  • Patrol Leaders need to complete rosters and submit at the Troop Meeting (Board of Review) today.
  • Patrol Leaders need to make sure that their patrol will have enough food, stoves, and other equipment for their patrol.
  • Assistant Patrol Leaders should work with their Patrol Leaders to make sure this is done.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Mr. Carley – Scoutmaster
