Troop 5 welcomed 20 new scouts who crossed over this February. Troopmaster Denfeld greeted the new recruits with words of encoragement. Peter V., our troop SPL, conducted the meeting and shared a candle light which represents the scout spirit. The new scouts will work hard to keep the spirit alive. To our new recruits, Welcome!

A Scout is reverent. He is faithful in his religious duties and respects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion. On Sunday Feb. 4th, some members of Troop 5 had their opportunity to show reverence to God and their Catholic faith.

Scouts showed their reverence to God by participating in Scout Sunday.  This tradition, which started 100 years ago, it is celebrated every year and allows Scouts to live out their duty to God.  This year the ceremony took place in St Joseph’s Catholic Church, and it was open to Scouts of all religions.  A Scout is faithful to his religious duties, but he also respects the religious belief of others.
